The Deepest Depths of the Burrow
The Deepest Depths of the Burrow a documentary about urban art and its specific lifestyle and subculture will be screened on July 1st at the historic Castro Theatre in San Francisco. The documentary, produced by 1xRUN and Rabbit Eye Movement and directed by Christian Fischer, features an insider’s look at Nychos’ world of art.
The documentary depicts this famous Austrian urban art and graffiti illustrator, who has been a part of the international art scene for more than 10 years. Within the last two years, Nychos was accompanied by filmmaker Christian Fischer who recorded the journeys by the amazing street artist to create a full length movie – The Deepest Depths of the Burrow.

The Deepest Depths of the Burrow
A Documentary About Specific Lifestyle
The documentary, which will be (without any doubts) widely accepted among street art lovers (but among other circles as well), tells a story about Nychos – an illustrator, urban art- and graffiti artist , who became known with his street concept Rabbit Eye Movement ten years ago.
The icon of the movement is a white rabbit, which has been breeding since then and has been popping up in the streets all over the globe for the past decade. Nychos (who is also a narrator in the movie) gives us the rare opportunity to have a look behind the scenes.
He introduces the viewers with several crews and international known artists, and he invites them to the opening of his solo shows in Detroit, New York and Turin. Exceeding the Austrian scene, Nychos and his team flew from Berlin to San Francisco to Copenhagen to Hawaii and many more places to visit artists who all provide a unique view into their (street) culture.
They led Nychos through the streets of their home cities and show them the deepest depths of their burrows. So, this is not only a documentary about Nychos, Rabbit Eye Movement and their work, but also about a list of well-known street artists who provide us with an insight into their unique practices.
Travel to Paint, Paint to Travel
“Travel to paint, paint to travel” is the motto, running throughout the entire movie – words that catch the spirit of the Rabbit Eye Movement. The Deepest Depths of the Burrow shows images which highlight the contrasts between urban art and graffiti from various angles and captures the mutual passion for urban art in unique way.
Viewers will be able to see interviews with Buff Monster, Bushwick Collective, Cone, Curtis, Drastrock, DXTR, Jasper Wong, Jesse Cory, Lamour Supreme, LOOK, Nychos, The YOK, Tristan Eaton and Vidam. Documentary is also featuring some of the most important names of the global street art scene, including Shepard Fairey, The London Police, Bask, and many more.
Produced by the Rabbit Eye Movement, directed by Christian Fischer, with the music by Michael Sommer.
ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] is a non profit, non subsidized, non governmental and all volunteer organization. We aim to promote social conscience and action through art. ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] is an Year Around Independent European Contemporary Street + Urban Art Festival established and based in Athens, Greece.
ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] was formed by a group of committed individuals who are guided by a passionate belief in the power of art to create and convey personal experience and cultivate social progress. ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] was founded in 2009 with the purpose to promote graffiti and mural art as an appreciated art form through talented aspiring and accomplished artists as well as to help revitalize low income neighborhoods. We have organised over 1,000 legal street art murals in Athens since 2010.
ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] does not promote malicious defacement of private and/or public property of any kind thus refuting the negative image of Graffiti and Street Art . At ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] we rebel by being a creative and positive force producing urban art that aims to empower and transform youth and their communities. We rebel by working hard to show what Street Art can do for the revitalization of problematic urban areas.
ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] desires to provide an annual platform for European Artists, operating outside of traditional systems. Outsiders if you like. The event aims to stimulate debate by challenging entrenched notions of what art is, and more importantly, can be. ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] aims to provide a relevant, challenging and dynamic environment for artists, students, gallery goers and public alike, an event that aims to reflects the culture rather than try and define it.
ATHENS STREET ART FESTIVAL [ASAF] consists of a series of citywide exhibitions, events, performances, interventions, debates + workshops surrounding current trends and movements in street art practice by some of the worlds leading practitioners. Street art as a genre has developed significantly over the past few years, and ASAF is concerned with the task of identifying, promoting and presenting both pioneers and emerging talents within the scene. The artists who attend the festival are among the most acclaimed and progressive public art practitioners in the world.

International Artist Exchange
We want to support a living international street art scene. But the situation for talented artists is not always the best. If you come to Athens we can give you support in finding great walls and excellent places to paint or help to organize an exhibition. Just contact us and ask what we can do for you and your art. You should not be doubtful. We hosted a lot of high class international artists in Athens. If you want, asked for our references.
Street Art is getting more and more popular. The artists often work hidden and are anonymous. So we can offer you meetings with members of the street art scene in Athens to get an interview or an article. Also if you write about the Athens street art scene or an artist and need some pictures (e.g. from current, old or gone art pieces), we provide a big and useful collection of street art pictures to use.
Get in touch with us.
If you are looking for an artist for an event or an art order, don´t hesitate to contact us, too. If there is a special topic we can also provide you a choice of good, well working artists. If you are interested in a concrete one, we can do the connection. Just get in touch with us.
Are you interested in buying an unique piece of art from a Athens street artist? We can offer you the connection or art pieces that already exist. Just ask.
We are working together with many artists and are open for your ideas.
