Mrfijodor | Nikaia, Athens

Within the Athens Street Art Festival, a project born with the aim of enhancing and supporting European creativity in urban art, the Italian artist Mrfijodor painted a façade of the 5th PreElementary School of Nikaia.

A XXXL Burger consisting of various layers representing cities, animals or our dreams. A visionary section of our times, a fat and enlarged shape of it.

The artistic residence of Mrfijodor was supported and promoted by the Institute of Italian Culture in Athens.

Mrfijodor, alias Fijodor Benzo.

He tried for years to use a tag like all writers, but in the end he settled for his own first name. A child with a strong creative streak, he started off building monsters with LEGO and drawing on his bedroom walls. In recent years his production has been very diverse, ranging from installations to thematic murals, but also performance and graffiti, dealt with since 1994. Mrfijodor creates subjects who usually have elementary forms and are able to convey direct and ironically responsible messages; this spontaneity allows a constant communication with the user/public. Very often, his works are marked by a social or ecological criticism, using as a weapon a childish and astonished smile pictured through a spontaneous and direct style, free from any complex technical elements.
